Progress always comes with a price. For me, that price is saying goodbye to a place where I’ve spent nearly half my life—Maxon Field. That field will always hold a piece of my heart and soul. For 24 years, I’ve asked young men and women to pour their Maroon and Gold blood, sweat, and tears into that grass, and it deserved every bit of it. Hundreds of Cashion Wildcats gave everything they had to build and carry on a tradition that has been unmatched for more than two decades.
Yes—progress has a price. And though it leaves me with only memories of Maxon Field, it’s a price I’m willing to pay.
Because progress is a good thing—and at Cashion Schools, it’s a very good thing. The leadership over the past 12 years has been incredible, with a vision and drive to make Cashion the very best school in Oklahoma.
Tomorrow night, we will open the new Maxon Field. And while part of me is sad to let go of the old, I can’t wait to embrace this new chapter. The next generation of Cashion Football is ready to honor the past by pouring their hearts and souls into the new turf. My hope is that Wildcats—past, present, and future—will come together to support them, just as we have done for more than 50 years on the grass.
Join us tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. as we proudly step into the future—together. GO WILDCATS!
